Due to a dodgy finger on my right hand I could do with the brake lever nearer the grip than the adjustment allows. Any suggestions on alternative levers or mod on standard adjuster?
ASV levers may be your best bet! Really good quality but not cheap! NEC coming soon you may get a deal there.
I have cheap Chinese levers on my bike. They are brilliant. They look fantastic and work perfectly. Less than 20 quid delivered...
To be fair Bradders has a point, I had them on my first mutley and I found a lot of slack in the clutch lever which resulted in the clutch dragging mainly when cold. I have a twin spark now and I haven't fitted them to this bike and have now sold them.
The Chinese levers sold by the2wheels come with 7 levels of adjustment, which might help you find a fit. You can adjust the play of the clutch lever with the little screw in adjuster.
OP is Looking at brake. I've had a few sets of chinese ones, always been good, just stay clear of adjustable clip ons!
Yes, but they make them in pairs and it's quite reasonable to assume to OP would get a matching pair if he can.
And you'll be in danger of the clutch slipping. The adjustment of the screw is critical. Not enough free play and the piston won't fully return so the bleed hole that allows the fluid to return the reservoir remains blocked keeping the system pressurised. If this is the case for the brake you can end up with the brakes locked on! So be very careful adjusting these screws.
The brakes are different, think its all to do with fulcrums. I have noticed on ever bike, especially radial ones, that the further from the bar the more bite, less feel and therfore less braking power as you hit the bar before panic brake lever extension
My levers were so well made that they needed no adjustment other than the personal one for distance from the bar.
