1200 Changing Exhaust

  1. Hello guys. i'm going to decat my Multi. I know there is many threads on this but not quite found the info I want. I would like to use the Leo Vince pipe as heard this is the best. However they do not make a silencer anymore to fit too it. I know this will make the bike too loud with stock pipes. So I was looking at aftermarket silencers but don't like the look of many. I don't however mind the look of some of the Mivv. so my questions are 1) can I use a Mivv can with Leo Vince pipe with no bodging or cutting. Or 2) Just use the Mivv decat pipe too, is the quality as good? what are peoples experiences with Mivv (Not a company I have heard much about). This conversion probably will be done in stages for money reasons, so decat pipe first.
    Cheers for any help, Josh

  2. Josh,

The MIVV silencer (?) does not fit the Leo Vince decat pipe. I have had the MIVV Suono on my 2010 for 4 years and it's a good pipe especially when you consider the price VS the Termi (and better looking IMO). If you search, you should find lots of earlier posts about decat pipes. I would do the entire replacement in one go.

The only thing that I would change is the Suono is very LOUD and does turn the bike into a hooligan and saves about 7 kgs from memory which is significant. Custom earplugs are a must. Cars do know when I'm behind and passing them!

  3. I also am doing this but bought the internal db reducer for the pipe
Will this make the stock pipes ok noise wise?
    Fitting to a 2014 GT

  4. From the research I've done, I don't think so. To be honest the DB level from your combination is probably absolutely fine doing Sunday blats and the occasional ride out but long touring journeys I fear it'll get on my tits. Those in the know chyme in as I'm going by what I have read.

  5. I am trading in my st3 and that has straight through pipes with no baffle made by GPR
Came with 2 baffles one internal and one on the end. Bothered with neither
Was fine on the road but was a problem in small Spanish villages especially when we arrived late at night in an enclosed cobbled square (open windows and shouting at me)
and also when we arrived mid-way through the village holy procession where they were carrying the Madonna round on a plinth and singing (frantic waving- they were horrified)
Want noise and a proper v twin sound but not that much as it was a bit offensive tbh

  6. Yea I think I'll give a go. I mean to change bk is a couple of springs and bolts 2hr job max I'm sure. So I can always whip it off for touring if I can't silence it enough.

  7. I use the Leo Vince with the stock end can, a universal baffle fitted in the end can will reduce level down to an acceptable level for touring

  8. Hello nik. Do you happen to have a link to a baffle that will fit?

  9. This is the sort of baffle eBay item 121457128589, the 42mm one fits with a bit of a gap or the 45mm one is a pretty tight fit, just make sure it's a short one, it might need cutting down a little

  10. Nik do you also use the Leo Vince baffle that fits between the pipe and the end can ?

  11. No, just the baffle in end can

  12. Cool
The pipe I have also has the baffle between.
Must give some noise mitigation we will see !
