1200 Looking At A Gt Multistrada And Would Like Some Buyers Guide Tips!

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by BigLee, Oct 21, 2015.

  1. @BigLee One of the reasons (not the only reason) why people buy the 2015 DVT Multistrada is that the seat height is lower, making the bike much more manageable for those with shorter legs. The same people are not in the market for a (taller) 2010-2014 Multi for the same reason. If you are tall this is not a consideration for you, obviously. So you are in a position to pick up a bargain which would suit you. There are plenty of them around.

No need for you to buy a bike which has been messed about - you could take your pick of well-sorted but standard secondhand Multistradas with luggage etc. Good luck picking one.

  2. Yeah, this one's been messed with too much. Someone else's f*ck ups are not what you want to buy when there are LOADS of MINT secondhand Multis out there. I'd have a look around for other options if I were you. Just my opinion mind you.

  3. I agree guys, sounds like this bike has been fiddled with and not in the right way. There is loads about and I`m in no hurry so I`ll kep an eye out, probably for a `14 bike, either a GT or even a Pikes peak with luggage as the fearsome depreciation will drop those bikes into my price league :D

  4. You should enjoy it. Can't see the point of Termis on a tourer quite frankly.

  5. I have a '13 1200 GT Lee with 32k miles and its still in excellent nick. Beautiful to ride and the Skyhook is definitely worth the extra money. Mine just had the big Desmo service with new belts before I bought it as part of the deal by the original supplying dealer, obviously with the full history and one owner. I was happy buying a higher mileage example as it would certainly have gone wrong long ago if it was going to. Heated grips and handguards are a great winter bonus. Mine is running Pirelli Scorpion 2s and there a good all round tire even for fast road. My only worry would be to make sure the fuelling was done correctly with that exhaust mate. Also if you decided to buy this one and dont want the crash bars I'd buy them, or have the proper R&G Aero crash bungs if that suited.

  6. The sound....the sound.

  7. The insurance are just paying out for mine.
£13200 for a 23 month old Pikes Peak, 12k miles immaculate. Still had 13 months Ducati warranty.

  8. Do you think that's good or not Aircon ?

  9. I think it is £500 south of a fair price, given what I can buy a replacement for, so for Hastings Direct I bloody amazed!

  10. The cheque arrived on Saturday, so 15th August to 31st Oct.
We didn't start the claim until the Monday, so I'm not sure how fast that is for a total loss pay out?

  11. So @AirCon are you allowed to buy back the wreck and salvage parts off it? Or not? And if you can, do you want to? And if you do, what are you going to do with the bits?

  12. Coparts purchased the wreck and no I'm not allowed to buy the salvage. I did ask and was told no as it was company policy (Hastings Direct).
I did want to as I felt I could restore it for a fraction of the pay out.
If by bits you mean of my super add ons, then I still have them.
