Someone has looked after it. Mine is on 24,000 miles now with no real problems bar a few ecu issues. Pictures below. You can see from the left hand side image where i have mounted them - the cables come from a hole in the black plastic cap, at the bottom. On the right hand side i took the picture from a different view, so you can see how tight it is on that side, with the full lock on. I am thinking of moving it as it take a lot of wigling of the ballast to get it into a position that doesn't foul on the clip on when on full lock. Just bit the bullet and ordered some samco hoses and clips, wanted them in black ideally however they aren't available for quite a while so ended up getting red.
Looks really good I always wanted a different top yoke to allow me to raise the bars slightly, would have helped comfort but I never got round to it
Having had a think about the HID ballasts I think I'm going to Velcro mount them under the instrument binnacle on top of the light cluster itself
You are doing a good job there :handok: I have a long way to go with mine to get here as clean as yours, I'm currently sorting valve clearances, belts etc but will crack on with detailing soon. Where did you get the carbon tank cover from & how is the fit; the one which sits under your carbon key guard?
Thanks for all the kind comments! The carbon piece you are talking about was already fitted when I bought it, the fit and finish is excellent. I believe that it is a carbon moto piece as the key surround is and it matches perfectly. These pictures can only mean one thing.... Yup I've ordered some more carbon!!! Should be here tomorrow when all will be revealed!!
Which brand of bellypan did you go for mate? Do you have any DP items on the bike, does the carbon match? Thanks.
It's a DP Carbon bellypan as is the carbon V, the underseat covers, air tube covers, rear mudguard, heel guards, dash surround. The key surround, dash cover, rear underseat fairing and front under fairing are all carbon moto. Both match really well.
No, the carbon heat shield will be up for sale....... I've got a DP one already but for some reason it's a different weave and didn't realise the new one wouldn't fit!
My exhaust shield is a DP one and it's not very nice if i'm honest, not satin but 'greyer' in tone to a glossy one. Might change it.
Ah, ok. When I had my 848 with full termi system, I remember I had 2 termi heat shields. The older one had better weave, the newer one looked better but the weave was different. Cracking job you're doing!
