18V 4Ah lithium, brushless motor and a real monster of a tool. It does have a baby brother which is only rated at 230Nm. Andy
No, it's so you remember to think about grease. Now, I need a power tool so that I can tighten up @finm 's nuts to within an inch of his life
I haven't got a picture of mine but it's pretty old, air powered Mac Tools AW4300 with 610 Lb:Ft (830Nm) of GET that nut OFF! You can pick up a used one, compressor, air line and a tyre inflater for way less than buying a new electric one (of decent quality anyway)... Not that it stops me wanting a nice electric one so I'm not dragging the air line around.
Think it would shift it? Have found it for £63 including postage. - Power Tools, Impact Drivers & Wrenches, Impact Wrenches - Electric
Past experience would suggest that it might well shift it. Put it like this it can supply more turning force and shock energy than you could in that confined space.
Heat gun, 600 ℃, arrived today. Its bloody hot. 750mm bar arrives later this week. Not keen on putting to much omph on it as front forks are out so it is balanced on a Abba and car jack. Will drop forks back in and some strong coffee and get beef on it. If that fails I'll buy the 450nm cabled impact driver. If that fails.....well, I wanted to buy an air compressor anyway. If that fails........trade in time.
The OP has a serious problem with his nut...............my flywheel / alternator nut was stuck literally with Loctite 638 (I think that is the one that sets like concrete)...........a Clarke rattle gun managed to loosen it in 30 seconds......
Yep, nearly all Loctite products will give at 200 degrees, but I wasn't happy with playing a blowlamp on the alternator area.
Having seen the price of a Clarke CEW1000 impact driver (mains, up to 450Nm), I'm very tempted to buy one however I would also need to find a suitable impact socket for the rear nut. Those of you with impact drivers that have 1/2" drives - have you found 1/2" drive 55mm BiHex (12 point) impact sockets? If so from where and how much?
