  1. 100% sure this has been mentioned but cant seem to find the thread

About to take the plunge and get a decat and a cjs remap but still need use of my center stand, can it still be used with the leo vince decat ?

  2. Yes

    from another website -
Does the LV mid pipe have a stopper for the center stand?
    Yes.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. Jimmyr, you're about to get the best bang for your buck. Went the same route a couple of years ago and never regretted it.

  4. Yeah heard all the hype about it on here, never really thought about remapping bikes but cant cope with the lumpy bottom end anymore!

  5. Have you tried disconnecting the exhaust valve? It's free and makes a noticeable difference to the smoothness. Also slightly deeper and louder, which is pleasing!

  6. Will have to give it a try, just disconnect the cable and leave the valve open ?

  7. Just disconnecting the cable may result in an EXVL error on your dash, depending on how old your Multi is.
When you get the LV decat you should get a small cam that fits to the exhaust valve motor. This fools it into thinking the cable is still connected and avoids the error. When Chris at CJS does the remap he disable the exhaust valve motor as a matter of course.

  8. Or you can buy an eliminator device. See my other post - search exhaust valve eliminator. I fitted one and then completely removed the servo and cable, leaving the valve in an open position.

  9. Is this as useful for a twin spark (2014 GT) and will it need a remap?
Not lumpy at low revs currently as standard?
Would like more noise mind ...

  10. Mines a twin spark, so same spec as yours. Lumpiness just off idle is a bit subjective, and may or may not be noticeable, depending on how you ride. For me it often felt like the bike was slightly hesitant just above idle - mostly noticeable when trickling along in town just using the torque to pull the bike along, rather than a gazillion revs and clutch in and out all the time (perhaps I try to ride more smoothly as my other half is often on the back).

Since I fitted the eliminator and removed the servo and cable the bike is noticeably smoother and slightly freer revving. So for me it was a good result.

Also, the other day I rode it half a mile home with no earplugs in, and it's surprisingly loud, now that the valve is permanently open. Especially when you ride like a tw@t! It's not open pipe loud, but a bit deeper, with a touch more bass. Nice!

  11. Does the exhaust valve removal or modification count as a performance mod., as far as the insurance company is concerned ?

  12. Bit of a grey area, but to the layman the bike still looks standard, so I wouldn't personally bother informing the insurance company.
