In the fullness of time, if anyone has, hears of or sees a 748R frame for reasonable money (as in not Elitesportsbike prices), I would appreciate a PM. Ideally I would also like a late (braced) subframe. I am in no great hurry so happy to wait and would appreciate the great and the good keeping my interest at the back of their minds. Ideally want to rebild my 748R which means recovering a few bits from my track bike. Andy
Hi Andy, By late braced subframe...do you mean a 16m type?...as there are 2 types of 16m and 2 types of p6 all with different bracing and structure. I have a late p6 type if you interested?...its a pucka track/RS unit with no hole for the key lock.
So I am currently using the sub frame from my 2001 748R for 1.6m ecu which has the additional bracing. Ideally that is the one I want. How much ? Andy
I've seen them at the elitesuperbike price £1200 at one end of the scale and more realistically £700 at the other end of the scale. Do you have one ? Andy
i do but not for sale im afraid mate.. i bought it from the netherlands paid 700 ish? from memory. the guy told me it was from a uk bike which was exported there, which it is, but he said id just have to tax it here but it turns out i have to do the whole nova thing and pay vat blah blah.. bit shit.. had it 4 years and will one day put the 1098 engine in it.. one day.. maybe.. i was just curious as to the value now.. think i paid to much then..
I'd say you probably paid about the right money, diminishing resource now, unless you run elitesuperbikes that is . Andy
i nearly sold it last year for 800 but i think the whole re reg think put the bloke off.. glad i didnt as i bought it to put the 1098 in and i would be a shame not to do it some day. like you say its getting hard to find em by the sound of things
Find at the right price. I'm not bothered about registration, as I said, I'm looking to put my 748R back together so I need a fame for the track bike. Andy
