Anybody Else Feeling The Winter Blues?

  1. Had a nice offer from wifey for a long weekend in Milan and did I want to spend Christmas in New York. I said no to both offers. I think I suffer from SAD, or I need my head tested, but I have my reasons which are not winter related.
I'm still on the bike commuting, has its moments, but I still enjoy it.

Xmas tree is in the garage, where it is staying.

  2. I live on the edge of saddleworth moor, Is it winter now? Can't say I noticed......

  3. Milan can be disappointing at this time of year. It is frequently grey and foggy. Not sure you are missing that much.
A bit dumb to pass up Xmas in NYC though. It's brilliant with superb cheesy American harmonies in the streets and the monster Rockefeller Xmas tree

  5. I hate the winter with an absolute passion but, today I took the day off work, cleared out the gutters, washed the wifes car and then (after checking that my immaculately cleaned and polished 999 was warm, safe and happy under its cover) we rode across town on our HARLEY DAVIDSON :) and had a cuppa with our local HD indie.
A thoroughly enjoyable day which will end with too much to drink and a nice warming curry.
Lifes what you make it I guess (ask me again when we are under 2 feet of snow next month) :(

    Cheers all,

    Andy

  10. Won't be long till the nw200. Winter is crap, damp , dark and crap.mind you it gives you the chance to clean and carry out work on the bike.
I record the tt and moto gp testing and season reviews to keep me sane ish over the damp season .

  11. Went out on my 899 on saturday, had a fairly big front end 'moment' on a round about, odd because roads were completely dry and tyres warm.

Nice ride other than that though!

  12. Diesel?

  13. Could have been, although I checked it out and it didn't look like it.

Thinking back, it's made me mind my neck in a bit for sure. Luckily my natural instinct wasn't to freeze up.

  14. I had an hour on Saturday. Bloody loved it. warm enough and dry. Got me knee down twice in a straight line as it was so windy and managed to get some wheel spin from a set of lights as the road was cold, tyres were warm though.

  15. I ride like a newbie on cold/wet days. no point trying to work on your chicken strips, will just end in trouble.
