1200 Decat And Remap

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Dave McLure, Dec 9, 2015.

  1. Hi all, I have a 2013 model twin spark motor, thinking about a decat and remap keeping standard pipes. Want to smooth out the bottom end a bit more and reduce the snatch. Have a queries:
How noisy does it get? I don't want it loud!
What does it do to the fuel consumption? Want to maintain current range.
Will it get through an MoT like this?
    Thanks all
    Dave

  2. Got the single spark myself but i imagine the noise is the same,
Got a termi stubby with leo vince decat and its obnoxiously loud, havent really noticed a difference in economy as i never get more than 120 from a tank anyway, as for the mot if you go to your local ducati dealer they should be able to point you in the direction of a "ducati friendly" mot station

  3. Having had the standard 'pipes' off my 2013 mutley, they offer the silencing of a loud hailer.

If you want it quiet with a de-cat then you need a long can like the arrow to soak up some of the thunder that pair of 600cc cylinders make.

For my own I am looking at the Arrow full system as I can't find any information weather or not the Arrow can will fit the leo vince de-cat, then a CJS re-map.

For the MOT, fit the baffle if you have removed it and it should pass, although my local tester threatens to fail bikes for clean baffles (because it's obvious they've only been fitted for test) the louder the better in his book... Most of the local streetfighter mob use him.

  4. Thanks all. Is it worth having a remap without removing the cat?

  6. I've remapped several stock Multis with the Rexxer with good results. Are you after more hp or a smoother ride? You don't need to decat or change a can for the latter.

  7. Neil, any news on the Rexxer for the dvt !

  8. I think it's about there Dave. I'm doing some chasing up. Not 100% but it looks at the moment like the ECU has to go to Germany for flashing. The Bosch is a very complicated unit and appears to be needing to be opened up to flash directly to PCB.

  9. I have a 2014 mutely and Leo Vince decat pipe with stock exhausts. It's loud but with the extra baffle in it is a nice loud. As for smoothness just adding the pipe has smoothed the bottom end. Even my missus noticed it. Completely different bike now, love it. I will get it mapped wen I have more funds but for now it's awesome.

  10. The map is available Dave. ECU needs to go to Germany though. They're still working on the EOBD protocols to gain access thru the diagnostic plug. It's more than the usual flash to. Need to do the sums but it'll be around the £350 mark.

  11. Does anyone know where a 2010 multi can be remapped in Scotland, preferably around Glasgow area....

  12. Only if you mean Bristol...instead of Glasgow.

  13. Sigh! That bad huh.....

  14. Sent my ECU off to Neil @nelly at Cornerspeed for a ReXxer remap - quick, great value, smoothed out my standard MTS beautifully. I wasn't prepared to go to Bristol, either!

  15. Who does it in Bristol aircon?

  16. It's CJS. Search of the web will turn it up. Chris does a great job.

  17. Thank you Majvs!
    I've sent Chris an email.

  18. CJS did mine with standard fit and I am very happy with the results.

  19. So you are using stock exhausts or have you added some extra baffle? I use LV decat with termi slip-on and thinking of changing back to original exhausts with LV if it makes it not as loud

  20. Fredrick, Leo Vince make a small insert that fits inside the OE end can. It is a poor excuse for a baffle but does make a small difference. After 3 days in the Exmoor national park on mainly twisty fast roads mostly in 2nd and 3rd gears, I have come to the conclusion that whilst the exhaust note is awesome it is too loud at high revs under load. I'm going to have a proper baffle made for an Akrapovic end can I have in my spares box. Andy
