Decat Plus Stubby Termi Vs Full Termi

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by BrassFlute, Dec 12, 2015.

  1. That's the question. I've a pp14 with termi stubby and contemplating either Leo Vince decat to go with it or the full termi - think I prefer the look of the carbon stubby to the silver full termi but interested to hear your thoughts on pros and cons. Naturally I'd get a CJS remap with either option.

  2. Comes down to noise. The stock cat is the main silencer, the stubby is little more than trim.
The Termi silencer is the size it is for a reason.

  3. As Nelly says, the stubby Termignoni with the LV decat pipe is very loud, too loud for most people who have tried it. You also have SC Project and Arrow decat systems with removable baffles to choose from. Mivv quality isn't the best and is probably the loudest of them all and Zard styling is at best a little radical, maybe too radical ? Andy

  4. Thanks guys that's good to know. I guess I ought to try and have a listen to the two although I'm half def from the full termi on my old hyper!

  5. Full Termi on a hyper don't come close to a Leo with the stubby on ;)

  6. I'd better factor in the cost of some ear plugs then!

  7. I've the full termi plus cjs mapping and it's loud , I like loud but think the stubby would be to much, the full termi is fine on tick over and when you go steady so good round town or if plods about, pin it and it's awesome, I'm not sure how the stubby would last either with that much pressure

  8. It would last...but just too much awesome noise...great if you're a teenage delinquent.
Not so good if you are middle aged or a young grand father.
Think about that time you took off the exhaust and just started it up to see what it sound like.
    Yep its that loud

  9. I've a Mivv de-cat and Akrapovic slip on fitted to my 2011 MTS,much quieter than the termi stubby I used to have.
A mate of mine is a traffic cop and he said he it wasn't too loud.
Naturally some CJS fairy dust is mandatory.

  10. Thanks guys. Think I'm off the LV with stubby option as I'm regularly on the bike at 6am and if it's loud even at low revs it will be too annoying.

  11. I have stock, which I assume has similar silencing to termi stubby and Leo Vince mark11 decat with optional baffle. It's fine, it's loud but you can live with it. Awesome.
