998 Engine Bolts

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by Wazza, Dec 14, 2015.

  1. Hi
If I buy some lighter engine bolts can I replace the old ones by just replacing them one at a time without having to do anything else at all would one bolt hold the engine in place or is there a chance that the engine would move and cause damage

  2. Just tap the old bolt out with a similar sized bolt / bar the tap the new bolt in while knocking out the bolt / bar. That's how I fitted my frame sliders.
Also helps if the bike is on the side stand as opposed to a rear stand.

  3. be careful when you tighten them as slightly prone to being overtightened due to length.

  4. Here's the instructions from TPO
