I understand that the Ducati Battery chargers connect via the DDA port on my machine ( and probably most of the current range ), but I have been unable to find out where the 4 wires go on this port. Presumably, only 2 are required for charging, but I would like to know which ones, and what the other 2 cables connect to. I also want to be sure that if I charge through these connections that I'm not going to screw something else up because all 4 pins are not being accessed. I know you can get Optimate pigtails , but at €30, that's more than I paid for my charger! Can anyone enlighten me please?
Pin 1 is 12V, Pin 2 is GND. Pins 3 are CAN Lo and CAN Hi. Get it wrong and you could blow your ECU or more!
Thanks Derek. I think it would be wiser if I just connect a separate pigtail to the terminals and use this as a dedicated charger point.
