I feel constrained to mention The Sweet Olive at Aston Tirrold, not far from the grim Didcot. If you fancy a really good nosh on a ride-out, or want to ease pillion pain, this is the place for you. It's a very nice looking country pub, but it's run by 2 Frenchmen and the food is truly brilliant. A wise idea to book I suspect. There are of course draft beers and wines, but you won't be drinking much of those, I imagine. The Sweet Olive is truly exceptional in my view. The only downside being that the selection is so mouth-watering that decision making is hard. I have eaten there many times (last time only a couple of weeks ago).
Cheers for this, i'm always looking for new rideout destinations and ones with good food available are preferable.
Some lovely twisty roads I drove Whitney to Abingdon a few weeks back If I'm that way again will try out your recommendation
