Howdo! Is anyone running or installed a set of FCR's? The rubber connecting the FCR to the intake does that require trimming? I've fitted a set moons ago and can't remember? They are fitted but seem to sit quite high? Thanks for any info or advice. Pablo
I might be talking bollox here because they maybe a different fitment, but my FCRs (split singles) have a screwed-in alloy adaptor that pushes into the rubbers (I don't know if the banked FCRs are the same) and on this adaptor there were two grooves but only the end one 'locks' in. Due to frame constraints I had to shorten my intake so I machined the first groove off so that the rubber locks into the second groove instead and this then fitted within the airbox area - problem solved. This makes the overall intake manifold around 5mm (IIRC) shorter - is that enough?
Howdo Sev! I couldn't find your previous post on FCR's? Fitted mine (39mm) and they are flooding... Checked the float height and one of the spring pins is trout, found it very hard to set them up....to the point where I'm still not sure they are right. The carbs also have no vent, previous owner has just put a straight though aluminium rod in. Carbs also have a 160 main which maybe to rich, only have end cans and MWR filter. Going to contact Allens tomorrow and see if they can service them and set them up as per Chris Cycleworks dit. In the mean time I'm going to install a shut of valve. Any FCR advice welcome!!!!
This motor is bog standard (Might fit a 600ss flywheel at a later date). But the carbs have been stood for 5 years so need a bit of TLC.
