848 Swapping End Cans

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Gizmo750, Jan 30, 2016.

  1. I'm hoping that some knowledgeable person can help me. I would like to swap out my current standard carbon Termingnoni end cans on my 848 for a pair of the slash cut version. Questions are:

    - Is the DP ECU the same for both types or would it need to be changed / flashed with another map?
    - Is it a simple case of removing the current ones and installing the new (I would assume so but just wanted to check) or is there anything else I need to consider?
    - Are the end cans the same for 848, 1098 and 1198 or do they differ?

Lastly, does anyone know of a pair of slash cuts for sale? Or anyone with them that is about to sell or part exchange their bike like to do a swap with me (plus cash their way).

    Thanks in advance

  2. All the slash cut cans are the same and will fit the 848 1098 and 1198. It's a straight switch and it uses the same ecu as the original oval termis. The only thing that may be different are the mounting straps, so make sure you when you buy some cans you get the straps with them. :)

  4. You'll need to change the link pipes / mid pipes. Or get someone to weld the spring tabs on at 180 degrees to where they are now.
