What Forks Are These?

  1. What model are the forks from please?

  2. They look like the Showa forks fitted to the early 748R and subsequently 996 S and some early 998. Andy

  3. Ah ha lovely thanks. I was wondering if they were the same as my 749s forks, I guess not.

  4. I'm not an expert...But the mounting points for the mudguard look more 749 than 748.

  5. Sadly no where near enough familiar with the 749 to know but that Showa was the fork of choice for non Ohlins at that time. Isn't the 749 a radial caliper ? Andy

  6. 749r is radial, everything else normal fitment.

    So do you think they are 748 or 749?

  10. Mmm. That's what I thought to but my 749s forks do not have Showa written on the bottoms. I'm looking for a replacement fork. The top adjuster is jammed on mine.

    Could it be from ANY other model, if it were would it be the same fork?

  11. Quick scan on ebay, the 749 showas have the casting marks. Are you sure you have a 749...? :p
    Have you contacted the seller and asked?

  13. They're 749/999 forks. 748 etc. Use plastic clips for the mudguard mount.
