It's simple. a) Keep it and do it up when you can without putting yourself under the pressure of a deadline (because in actual fact there isn't one). b) Sell it and regret it every night as you rock yourself to sleep slumped in the corner wanking like an epileptic monkey. You choose.
That works if you have a 2nd bike to ride this summer. No working bike is no laughing matter..........
Agree to a degree. It depends on whether or not the SL is a keeper, if it is (and it sounds like it should be) then 1 summer without a bike shouldn't be a big deal. I've kept my 1 shiny 'keeper' for 20 years and run complete shitters on the side. The OP could pick up a snotter for a few hundred quid and run it into the ground if he just wants something to ride over summer that will also allow him to keep the SL. Even if you're broke (in my experience) it's possible to do an extra job, sell something not essential, scrape up a couple of hundred from somewhere.
Could you rent a garage for a month or 2 and throw all your spare time at it? How many man hours do you recon it would take? Storage Units To Rent In Horsham, Clean, dry and secure with 24 hour access | United Kingdom | Gumtree Crawley Borough Council
A couple of hundred yes but a few hundred it's possible, that is if you don't mind being seen on something like an ancient Suzuki. This GSX600 for example is particularly beautiful, I especially like the bespoke reupholstered seat: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...&postcode=se155nr&page=4&radius=100&logcode=p
Well ive decided very definitely to keep it, just needed a nudge in the right direction, so much so that the frame and wheels have gone off to the the powder coaters, going slightly different from standard and having white frame and wheels and with the newly painted motor and polished swing arm shes gonna look great. Thanks too all for the advice and encouragement, ill try and get some pics posted when shes getting to look more like a bike. Thanks again guys n gals
I think youve made the best desicion. Glad we could all help. White frame and wheels classy Look forward to seeing pics of you build in the house
