A giant of prog rock and an icon from my youth has passed on to the great Karn Evil in the sky. RIP, Maestro.
The live triple album 'welcome back my friends.............' remains a favourite. Still on my Ipod today.
One of my faves too. Actually went to the SouthBank to see an orchestral performance on the back of the ELP rendition.
Saw ELP at the Bournemouth International Centre in 1992. They were on great form but unfortunately the flamethrower wouldn't function You can't have everything I guess.
Sorry to hear of his passing, but ELP to me signified all that was wrong with late 70's area rock. Some say that they single handedly inspired the punk revolution.
