So what have you done today..?

  1. Went out on the rsv4, messed around with the rear shock, got it a bit better but it really needs someone to set it up whose better than me (not hard)... 4 years later it still impresses the pants off me...

  2. I got out on the monster today and got about 120 miles in. Even though I was short shifting to keep it under 7000, it picks up speed with surprising but delightful haste.:Wideyed::D As in, fuck me! It can shift. It was wet when I left but the bike is there to be ridden and, while I look after my bikes, I've never been precious about them. The shoulder/arm was good until I was nearly home. I've been a bit worried about it but it looks like it's maybe easing off. Fingers crossed. It's meant to be dry all day tomorrow and I've nothing urgent to do so I should a full day on the bike. I really feel like I need it.

  3. 4am, wide awake although dopy thanks to the pain killers, anti inflamatrants and muscle relaxants, reading about how you are all enjoying riding your bikes in the nice weather - bastards. Had this bad back for over a week now and was off to the chiro for my 5th appointment yesterday, parked the car and as making my way through the car park when I was gripped by a vicious muscle spasm. Didn't know whether I was going to be sick, poo myself or just fall over writhing in agony. Chiro couldn't do a thing but I managed to make the doctor's surgery and wait for someone to see me. Been on the happy pills for 36 hours and do feel a lot better but still get the occasional grab spasm in my lower back. Popham is only 30 minutes down the road and it's supposed to be a lovely day but it's defo too early to consider trying to get the Multistrada out. Still if there is a little freedom of movement, I've got my GB Racing engine and water pump protectors to fit on the 1098. Hope everyone manages to enjoy at least some of the day. Andy

  6. Good luck with the recovery Andy.
If my experience is anything to go by, the back spasms will taper off and, if you're careful and cautious, you'll be right as rain in a week or two. Don't be too eager, is all I'd say. Fingers crossed.

  7. Sorry to hear about your back Andy. I know how you feel, I've got similar problems though not as severe as yours by the sound of it. Knackered facet joints in my case. (They think. Can't get a scan on the NHS).
Physiotherapy exercises and Naproxen seem to be keeping mine at bay at the moment. They wanted to give me epidurals but I turned them down because I can't see how paralysing the symptom without treating the cause can help, and might make things worse.
I know what you mean about driving. Sometimes I completely seize up after getting out of the van. Its quite frightening because standing still or taking weight off the back doesn't help. The pain just keeps building and it usually happens in the middle of the road when there's nothing to hold on to..
Take it easy and do what the physio tells you. Hope you get it under control soon.

  8. Naproxen... Rocks those pills do... Cant take too many though... I find they don't work as well if you do...

  9. Good call DB. @DaffyDuc, how is the knee ? Didn't you say it was the last day of your holiday ? Hope you get to make the most of it :upyeah:. Andy

  10. Actually I've found that.
The first time I took them I took the full course. They worked like magic but symptoms returned in a couple of weeks. I got a repeat prescription and assumed that the pills were only ever going to give temporary relief so I just took them until the pain went and then kept the rest of the pack for the next time. Touch wood it they do seem to work better taken this way with relief lasting months rather than weeks.
I don't think they're very good for your kidneys if you take them all the time.

  11. Yes.... For me (with back pain) it's a case of "can I put up with it" if I can then I don't take them.... Gave up going to the docs... They don't want to know...

In fact when Android put that up I was awake too (back pain) and was sat up in the bedroom in my old man wing back chair reading...

  12. Replaced power supply in drawing office a0 plotter. 16 years old and still going strong.... Serviced it 8 years ago... And its gone til now... [IMG]
Should be good now for another few years!

  15. Yes,he did turn up.Imagine a Dell Boy type, including a battered old van.He wanted to help me out with cash and take the bike there and then.only problem was his distorted view of what makes a suitable offer.I wished him well with his quest and bid him farewell.:upyeah:

  19. Got up with a hangover and played golf. I will never be any good, it was very enjoyable. Only lost 1 ball. Now to pretend I can ride a bike.

  20. Probably shouldn't be grovelling on the floor although movement is required but I couldn't wait. Nice and easy to fit and everything anticipated in the kit. Andy
