  1. I've done the M50 swap. I've not had any issues with the ABS yet.....

    You do need to change the master cylinder to a 16.
     
  2. It's certainly not triggering too early or throwing any error codes, and I have done a couple of "vigorous" stops to check....but I haven't seen the ABS light come on yet.....

    I'm going to do a more detailed write up on the M50 conversion after I've fully tested it at Almeria in April....fitting wise it's very straightforward.....

    On the road it feels miles better but I can't be 100% sure what affect it's had on the ABS until I can really lean on the brakes on a warm dry track......

  3. Do you know roughly how much lower (if at all) the ducabike rearsets go compared to OEM?

    What do you mean by them having more float but then mention they have a shorter throw? Is gear change more sloppy now?
     
  4. About 7mm lower in lowest position.

    What I mean is the the gear lever is a bit sloppy on it's pivot bolt. The pivot of the gear lever is in bush not a bearing. Shorter throw means the gear lever travels less distance up or downin order to affect ahead change

    They seem to work fine. The caveat to my comments is I bought them second hand so they could be worn.....

  5. Thanks I get what you mean now - there's initial play in the lever due to the oversized bush but once this slack is taken Up and is actually working the shift rod, its a shorter.

    Seems a shame they fitted a bush rather than bearing. I wonder if a brainy could be fitted if there was enough room to bore the hole out more? Also you could probably replace the current bush maybe with a harder one?

    That's good about being able to go a bit lower. I would like as much leg room as possible on the road.

    I'm probably going to be fitting rearsets and love the look of the lightech and rizoma ones but im not sure if they go lower than standard as they don't have many holes. Gilles do the sliding adjustable types as per the HP4 but I don't like the look of them really. If they're not in the middle setting or horizontal they look odd.
     
  6. I think there are ok, I really noticed having a bit more leg room. I'm 6 foot but with chubby legs....

    I did ask my mate Jase at Contract Turning what he thought about the bush but he said it wasn't worth the aggro.....

    I've had Lightech - they are gorgeous
     
  7. It's not just up and down slack, there is lateral movement on the lever too....I can only describe it as just feeling a bit sloppy....for a £500 gear lever....

    Could be the bush is worn but the rest of the rearsets look brand new...
     
  8. I bought used asv levers for my last bike and they looked good but the bush was a bit worn and they were terrible.

    I replaced the bush and it wasn't a lot better. Actually sat on a bike yesterday with the same levers and the play in them were shocking too.

  10. Anyway they work fine so I've got over my initial disappointment at their sloppiness....
     
  11. Just ordered some Progrip 717's as heard only good things (same as the superleggera grips)

  12. Have you fitted the grips yet?? Interested in these myself.
     
  13. I have swapped the grips on mine over to the Progrip 717's and absolutely love them. Slightly bigger diameter and really grippy.

  15. Yes I was a little apprehensive at first but the guys at the dealers pointed me in the right direction. I cut the old ones off carefully then plenty of hairspray on the bar and inside the grip and they slide on. You need to be pretty quick at getting them on and then leave them for a few hours to go off.
     
  16. Where did you buy them from? Did they come open ended?
     
  17. i got them from Snells in Alton. They had both the official Superlegerra ones (expensive) and normal Progrip 717's (about £15) but both are exactly the same as they have a Superleggera in the showroom so we compared them to the ones fitted.
     
  18. They haven't turned up yet... just come across this shall we say different way of doing it.

     
  19. Heard of this way also to remove. Planking in using the air method to remove then hairspray to keep the new grips in place
     
  20. I installed progrips 717's, simply cut the old ones off with a scalpel, I used hairspray on the inside of the new grips and they slid straight on, a few minutes later they we dry and stuck solid.
