Blimey, thats disappointing with so few miles. Mine is second batch too. 2016 spec apparently, so haven't had the full gauge or dash resetting problems but have had my fair share of others. I think its a great idea to have it collected, i had seen what can happen riding one with leaking seals. It wasn't the brakes that was the problem that time, it was the tire. I hope you get it fixed soon.
True, must only be something you have to do on premium brands. Anyway, I'm off to try and remove my rusted on exhaust bolt... premium ay?
Even if some oil is escaping that does not necessarily mean the seals are blown and have to be replaced. It might mean some grit has got lodged in the seals preventing them from sealing properly. Sometimes cleaning the crap out meticulously might be enough to fix the problem. There are threads about how to do this.
It's worked for me twice. Cheap as chips too (completely free if you have something you can bodge and cut into a hook such as an old bit of camera film).
I had mine leak quite a bit (as far as I was concerned). Turns out it actually was so minimal they didn't even bother topping it up when I asked them. It rides no different and I've had leaks on both forks that I've done myself with the seal mate
the electronics can't compensate fully. the more oil you lose the easier it is to compress the forks. of course this is all relative, you lose a small amount of oil and it has a small effect. you should remember though that the skyhook fork has much less oil than the other one. now the sky hook could tighten the compression damping if it dives lots on braking, but that doesn't help with cornering balance when the bike should compress evenly ( in total compression as well as speed. although this rarely happens on a road bike as its a compromise on spring rates and damping)front to back.
Knowing them, probably not. Handles no different and it was really only a bit of an oily mist that looks worse because it sprays everywhere.
