good evening, hope someone can help. only had my bike a month today. and already facing my first problem. only happened a couple of times but the other day i rode about 30miles stopped off at a relatives house, had a cup of tea and a chat, then i went to leave the bike went to start then went dead, as if the battery died. i turned key off flipped side stand up and down. flicked the gear lever into gears then out.... then it started. it then did it again. after that nothing for a couple of rides then today ive noticed what its doing, basically today i didn't quite keep my finger on the start button for long enough (it kicked over but i let go too soon) anyway its started enough to somehow threw it out of neutral on the dash (green N light came off) with the clutch in i clicked it into gear then out.. (defiantly not in gear) but light stayed off.. i had to flick it in gear switch bike off then click into neutral. turned key for dash to come on and green light came on.. bike starts. Strange. what makes the green light come on and off.. sensor? gear box issue?
Since it seems that it's not actually going into a gear but the light is going out then the problem is likely to be the neutral switch being overly sensitive. It may be faulty or it need adjustment by fitting a thinner washer under it. It is mounted at the back of the gearbox but can be awkward to get at.
I have been playing with shift rod lately as I had problem getting a positive gear selection. (due to me not the bike. Foot being lazy)
