749/999 Cold Starting

  1. Is anyone able to tell me if the ECU within the 749/999 models adjusts fuel for a cold start?

    Many thanks

  2. The ECUs on all fuel injected Ducatis adjust for cold starts. The fuelling is adjusted according to the outputs from the air and engine temperature sensors. The biggest adjustment to cold starting will be from the engine temperature sensor (coolant temperature sensor on water-cooled bikes).

  3. Thanks Derek. After some tweaking of the fuel trims my nike now ticks over beautifully whilst cold but once warm it stalls. My thinking is I will measure the CO when cold, then set the same CO when the bike is warm.

  4. Should work shouldn't it?

  5. Don't you have a cold start lever on the left bar for cold starts?

  6. Hi mate, yes but I am trying to find its happy place for lovely tickover and I had a brain wave :) :)

  7. Now you've said it, it kinda makes sense with a warm engine.

  8. Engine needs to be at 40 deg C for the likes of JPDiag, Guzzidiag, Scan5MX to work
