Replacement Bulbs 959/899

  1. I know there has probably been a few posts on this subject but can anyone advise of a good replacement bulb which blends better with the 899/959 led day running lights. The current halogens look awful and ruin the day running lights

  2. Nobody got any advice on this one?

  3. I think I read on the American site that some are looking at putting the 1299 headlights on, but as a complete unit. Sounds an expensive route and don't know if there any implications

  4. LEDs are very white and halogens are yellow in comparison. You can get halogen with a slight blue tinge but it still looks yellow next to an LED. A HID xenon complete with ballasts is the best option to colour match, give nearly 3 times as much light, and only uses 35 watts instead of 55 watts, but it is not a quick job.

  5. 570 euro plus vat and postage for light, then bulbs etc, then fitting. Regardless of cost, seems a lot of hassle, and once 'cutting' was mentioned, I lost interest.

As said, 55watt bulb, but I'd only bother if they needed replacing.

I haven't rode the bike at night so can't say if the lights are good or bad, but I did notice the difference in colour.

  6. For me it, just spoils the look of the bike, yellow tinge, against the cool white LED day running lights. Never tend to do evening runs which involve night time riding accept near the end of summer runs
