Went into my local Apple store today to buy new i-pad 64GB and they have sold out and don't know when the next delivery is going to be! anyone else found this?
it's normally the same when a 'new' product comes out. i decided I wanted a macbook pro but didn't realise they had just launched a new one. Cue tours round london and brighton apple stores and ended up getting an alternative. I think it's pretty crap they can't tell you when more are arriving either, it's just something they do.
its all a con all new products like ipads ps3 or ds alway apear to be in short suply promting panic buying when they do come in to the store
motojohn not exactly. It is used as such but only if company wants to. Apple knew for couple of months they will be selling it so they could have built up stock but that costs money, you know storage of goods and on top that means you need to invest bigger lump sum that is not circulating earning for it self. Greedy they are just like with anything else apple does. Sorry but I will never like a company that has to lie about their products to sell them. PS3 was in short supply as for first 3 years sony was loosing money on every hardware unit they sold due to manufacturing process not being refined. As such they only made as many units as they had to sell to get game manufacturers interested in new market.
I think they must know this is going to happen, it happens every time, it is part of 'creating the buzz'. We would not be talking about it here without that supply problem. Re-read the thread and you will see people who have managed to get them saying how good they are. We are doing their advertising for them. Sorry I seem to be feeling very cynical tonight.
