1200 Now That Sure Is Loud!!

  1. Today I have been shortening the end can on my Termi system (slightly nerve racking).
It's almost done, but I couldn't resist firing the 'old girl' up with no end can at all.
I don't know how the Harley brigade stand the noise, but I guess they only rev to about 2k!!

I think she sounds great but only in very small doses :)

Don't forget to your amp and speakers up to 11 \m/

  2. Finally finished cutting down the long Termi end can, went for a reduction of 135mm.
I don't think she's noticeably louder, but definitely has a bark!!
    Looks a lot better IMHO.
Wish I'd worn gloves while messing about with the fibreglass matting, my fingers are itching like crazy.
Here she is now with the modified end can fitted:-

    Cheers

  3. Looks good.

  4. Looks really good, shorter suits the lines better. Any idea what that bracket welded to the furthest pipe is for?

  5. Hi Carr01

That is a stop for the centre stand (when fitted). I have the stand but only fit it when I go out with the wife to be touring about.

For hooning around, it gets in the way.

  6. Ah makes sense, thanks.

  7. Nice job and looks much better. Does it make any difference that you notice when you ride it; regarding the fueling that is not sound.

  8. Looks great :)

  9. That's the sort of termi that would tempt me!

  10. Just been out for a blast over to see Rich at Louigi Moto and order some new tyres. Ride was a nice mix of in town traffic, some nice sweepy country roads and some dual carriageway.
I'm pleased to say that the fueling is spot on with no weird flat spots or surging.

I little louder than before, but i don't mind that.
All in all a job well done I think.

Back to Louigi next week for tyre fitting (Avon 3D Storm XM) If Rich can scrape the pegs on his ST2 with them, they are good enough for me :).

First ride I've had for a while, great fun but a bit cold with summer gloves, roll on spring and summer.
Over Christmas I changed the giant standard bars for a set of Renthal fat bars for a KTM 85.
Quite a challenge getting all the controls on, but tool the opportunity to ditch the hand guards too. Feels much better!
Back end looks neater now with a Evotech tail tidy and tiny (but bright) LED bullet indicators.

Time for a brew I think

    Deaks :)

  11. Glad she's running so well. Agree that the tail tidy really suits the look of the bike (with the crud catcher off too!).

  12. That'll put some hairs on your chest

  13. Does the tail tidy effect the panniers or top box all ? If not which one would you recommend ?

  14. I used an Evotech tail tidy with some tiny LED indicators.....m-Blaze Pin Bolt On Turn Signal
They are tiny but super bright, they also clear the support rails for the top box when fitted.
I made up some little alloy inserts the shape of the standard indicators to keep things neat.
The Evotech will not work with panniers and top box if you use the standard indicators.

Next step is to remove the grab handles, for a 'cleaner rear end' :)

    HTH

    Deaks :)
