999 passed MOT with no advisory. [emoji106] . First ride, if I were to describe her in 1 word, "keen".
I assume he's never going to be using that skill on a Mutley...as the rear brake is an optional add on.
Rode the SMT down to Loomies today. Lots of Panigales there and a couple of Monsters. Anyone we know?
Took the pillion pegs and rear torque arm off the FZR and gave them a coat of paint. Little by little it improves. [emoji846]
Riding to the MOT station and back I thought WOW! Did 40mls this afternoon, very different to the 996. Almost closer to the GSXR. One thing for sure, she's quick. I need a better steering damper and a slippery clutch. Not sure on the fully floating Galfer brakes, I don't like the rattle. Brand new pads as well so maybe I'll get used to it.
Walked the dog, Pilates, finished off housework, walked the dog again then got out on the bike. It was lovely to be out in the sunshine, nippy as it started to drop though. Did about 70 miles but flipping heck, the roads are choked with 20 mph and 40 mph stretches for no readily apparent reason. Some lovely bits that were 60mph now wound right back when there is excellent visibility and no houses for miles. I'm not a knee down scratcher but it is very frustrating. I can see more miles being done abroad then in the Uk eventually.
Helped a lad on the AF1 forum fit his track fairings... Apparently he's meeting 4 duc owners who are on rsv4's.... Anyone on here.... Donnington on Tuesday...
I got piss wet through going to/from Ducati Manchester to get the scrambler serviced this morning, despite having my waterproof jacket on over my leathers. When I left home it was barely raining so the jacket was fine. By the time I was coming over Holme Moss it was torrential and it didn't stop till mid afternoon. Hence the bottom half of my leathers were soaking and my nether regions were in a puddle by the time I got home again. This afternoon (and even now) SWMBO and I have been babysitting #1 sons two kids. #1 son and wife have been "on a date" all afternoon/evening, so we took the boys (4&2) to Chill Factore at Trafford for a bit of snow play, then we had pizza, came home and played Ducati Challenge on the iPad for an hour then put them both to bed. We're now waiting for the lovers coming home!
Today my Held jacket let me down for the last time. The zip has been playing up for a few weeks but today I just could not get it to fasten. I'm not really complaining because it owes me nothing. It's now 6 years old and has done a ton of foul weather miles and has never let a drop of water through. A superb jacket. Anyway, I nipped through to Ducati Glasgow to look at the Dianese Carve Master because I'd heard good things about it and they had it in a 50, which I thought was my size. Unfortunately it's cut small so was too small for me and they didn't have a 52, but they had an alternative that they were selling off cheap because it was the last in the shop. It's called an Ice Sheet, so I worry about it's ability to survive a Scottish Summer but, it is a very very nice jacket for the money I paid. The only tiny little thing I'm not 100% on board with is it has white flashes on the sleeves and I'm out in all weathers so they're going to end up f'ing manky. No worries though, they'll just become road grime grey flashes.
A change of plans then a second last minuet change of plans left an empty morning, so a bit more FZR work...
Bimble through to Scarborough, fish & chips, walk on seafront & a nice icecream. Was very busy almost like a july Sunday
