Here's a thing: Suppose no one had recorded any music at all in this century, would it really be a problem? There is so much stuff to listen to from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s you wouldn't really miss it. Feel free to post all those classic 21st century tracks we'll definitely be listening to in 30 years' time.
Theres some great music and bands emerged in the last 15 years, florence+the machine, the XX, public service broadcasting, white stripes, arcade fire, jake bugg have all put some fine albums out.
Not to mention Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree, Tame Impala, Zero 7, Goldfrapp, Keane, Delusion Squared, The Pineapple Thief, Arz, Modest Midget, Engineers, The Prodigy, Korai Oram, Combination Head ...
