Are You An Existing Sky Customer?

  1. Because they currently have a deal on and are giving existing customers a 35% discount on their bill for 9 months. The only condition is that you've got to stay with them for another 3 months after the 9 has expired.

This isn't a joke. We've just done it and got the discount, though I did have to be insistent to the person who initially took the call who said there was no such deal. I eventually got them to put me through to someone who knew what they were talking about and hey presto the deal was done :upyeah:

  3. I told them I was off and they gave me 50% off everything for a year? I am a long time customer though with the full package and its the first time I've tried anything like this. They offered me the 30% first and I turned it down, waited 2 weeks and they called me back with the 50%. Pays to play hardball!

  4. Sky are obviously so used to this tactic that you can even do it through their website now to save the hassle of phoning their support line! I received an email when my last 12 month contract ended, clicked the link and went straight through for a discount on the TV package. If you then clickk through a few links you get another discount on the phone/broadband.
For me it works out at about £50 off per month, but obviously it depends on your package.

  5. I went onto the sky site, took ages to sign in , everything works until you get to the offers section then it just buffers , call me sceptical but I don't think it's an accident.

  6. El toro where did you find out about the offer ?

  7. #2 son did it, told me and we did it. Told the forum and some have done it. Told work colleagues and they've done it too.

  8. el toro, you can get a similar thing if you are a BT customer, it's due to sky massive loss of market share, I was haggling a deal and getting close to 35% discount, they ask who I was with I said BT they said sorry that a 50% deal, bit mor haggle I have sky hd plus, multi screen but both in 2tb boxes, full spor, movies, family and entertainment , sky fibre and phones, £55 month for 12 month, told him misses needs to use the phone can we hurry up and he gave a £100 Tesco voucher, start with chat, then unplug WiFi and ring them, you can get all the extras because the number given next to chat icon is leavers customer service number, they do almost anything for you

  9. The thing is you can obviously give them some competition.

Where I live we can only get Sky. Even when BT said they could supply us they couldn't when it came down to it so we had to go back cap in hand to Sky. We are a bit of a captive market and as such we've never been able to get any kind of discount by threatening to leave. And they know it.

So this was welcome bonus. :)

  10. I guess any amount of money off is a bonus discount saving for next bike, and that's massive discount if sky don't have competition,
well done, should be able to get a ybr125 on monthly with your saving there!

  11. Very weird. I thought that pretty much all copper lines were BT/Openreach and Sky just lease them off BT/Openreach. Only cable companies like Virgin get away with not leasing from BT/Openreach.

  12. yes they do but, sky charge 17.50 for line rental, they were doing whole tv pack for 50 something, then I enquired about b/band, they gave a price, got full tv pack down to 35, paid for HD as if I did he would give me the 2tb box, told him wanted multi screen, he said £5/mth, he asked me who i was with I said BT, he checked it, he said ok 50% off so second 2tb box and viewing card, said I had to pay 45 today up front, I paused he gave me info to get bt sportpak on 2 card for 25/mth, I pay a total of 55plus pence, sky fibre, free phone line, son pays for bt sport as was him who wanted sky, it's when you receive the contract you see how they get deal so cheap, they charge you on invoice one and invoice 2 in same envelope is credit note , it shows £805 refund for boxes and kit due to bt customer, £498 year discount given to pay 45 in advance and sign with them on phone after trouble with sky chat,
they have all manor of ways to beat anyone, it seems that you push then ensure you pay bit upfront and sign on phone after saying had problem on chat

  13. I got a 50% reduction for my SKY bundle for a year!!
Told them I was leaving because my kids watch Netflix and Amozon
