The new version of backrest but now yet with the old cushion. New cushion (more rounded shape) will be later this week.
Regardless of what the style is.... 1. The finish itself is perfect - you only seem to be limited by what you can draw so I suspect time and evolution will eventually fall in your favour. 2. Based on the above the sky is the limit.... 3. A bloody handy person to know...! Wish I knew you when I was designing my tail tidy for my hypermotard....!
Could you show me what you made, at the end? Someone gay (in bad sense) broke the tail of my Multi, to steal the number plate. I just took my dremel and did a cheap tuning. New plate I had bent and fixed on splashguard. But now I in a doubt, to buy a carbon or to make smth by my hands.
New portion of goodness Lower plate of my backrest could be used for the Monolock system base. I find the old topcase iXS in my "trash corner". iXS topcase is really a GIVI old model. So, only 4 holes with M6 thread in my lower plate and... voila! This way, owner of my backrest can save more than $500 if he buys cheaper GIVI Monolock topcase (or branded for others). You can't mount a Monolock base on Multi\Hyperstrada as it is, without some adapter. In the background of last photo you can see Dzhamshut. Here in Russia they work hard every day. You have taken off the pith helmets of the colonizers, we put.
Yep - here it is although the mount points and shape would be different but for me the design had to be.... 1. Small as possible 2. Configurable. 3. Stainless (no need for coatings) So, as you can see it comes in 2 parts so if youre running integrated lights you can loose the bar... Also the holes were a little bigger and the slotted holes in the middle meant that depending on what pipes you were running you could always butt the plate up behind giving a cleaner finish.... I reckon mine was the best one ive seen as all the others were fixed so once mounted the plate was inches away from the bottom of the pipes and you have to keep the indicator mounts even if you didn't have indicators...hope that helps.
Thank you! It looks nice and simple. Only two processes - laser cutting and bending of 2 mm stainless steel sheet. I have to think! Actually only for MTS I could made it in one detail. Unfortunately our license plates here in Russia are very big. I think they make them for blind policemen
I did also get a replacement underneath mudguard fabricated to stop all the crud mixing with the wiring... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Sorry, Anakin, it was a mean trick to confuse you like that. It would be very hard to explain to you but it's a joke that you'd need to be a really good English speaker to understand, probably an English person. Not directed at you though.
Sorry, but while English not need for me everyday, and all day round, all my efforts will be useless I can't force myself to study... That that I wrote this without google is enough for me
You're doing well - how many of us could contribute to a Russian forum in Russian?? Not too many I suspect.
It worked then Anakin. Well done, good to see it. I agree, the simpler form is better. Sorry I didn't reply to the post on April 21st but I didn't see it.
The post of comfysofa inspired me to create my own tail with the same technology solutions: cutting from thick light aluminium sheets and mechanical assembly without welding. Here is almost the first sketch. Plate holder was designed for the russian license plates with three points mount. Red tube have to contain a white light for license plate and a turn signals on the ends. Wiring will be hided in a milled groove and covered by compound. Nice pastime for long russian winter. It will be "Winter tale about a tail".
