Sf848 Service

  1. My bikes in for the 15k service and fluids. Bikes 3.5 years old approx. 13k miles on the clock used all weathers. Dealers had the bike 5 weeks as there is a problem regarding a noise coming from the engine. Not sure what to think having been quoted the best part of a grand for the 15k service alone! It seems the dealer had to phone Ducati to explain the problem and they advice taking another look at the engine so going to be even longer without my bike! Feel like chucking it in for something different but this service along with new tyres etc has cost me the best part of 2k! Rant over. :-(

  2. I know how you feel. My 1098 SF's 15000 mile service cost £1200. But I did have a complete new clutch.
I take it Your's is at Riders? £93/hour I'm afraid.
Too late to take it elsewhere I suppose?

  3. Yes mate but not going to drag their name through the dirt as always been good to me in the past. They have done the 15k service so too late am afraid. Fair play they are lending me a bike next week whilst mine is being sorted. Just want it back now!

  4. Wasn't slagging Riders. They've always been perfectly straight with me and their parts department particularly have been very helpful but they're a big glitzy showroom with corresponding running costs and so their workshop charges won't be the cheapest.
Rates vary quite a lot between dealers. Just saying it pays to shop around. Needs must when every penny counts.

  5. Yes fair play mate I wasn't suggesting you were apologies I am crap with words. I must admit I was surprised when I got a quote from Ducati Glasgow it was literally a third of the cost! I considered shipping the bike up there for the work but like to support local when I can. Seems odd that prices vary so much as the main dealers say they get their prices for servicing etc direct from Ducati so are fixed?? The joys of owning a Ducati I spose! :)
