1200 Led Auxiliary Lights

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by MotoNik, Apr 26, 2016.

  1. Hi Folks,

Got myself a pair of LED spotlights. I recall there was a recent thread about this, but I've not managed to find it so far. Can anyone please advise where they'd recommend taking a power feed?

    Thanks,

    Nik

  2. Mine run from a Touratech TPS 15 power distribution box. Makes adding all of the accessories a hell of a lot easier as I have an action cam, iphone (satnav) charger, aux lights, USB charger for pillion and, when I finally finish it, my homebrew chain oiler.

  3. Thank you, much appreciated!

  4. That's a lot of gubbins! I'll investigate one of those, thank you.

  5. If you don't want to go splashing on a TPS 15, just go get a relay and then you can run them from the battery with a switched trigger (sat nav wire).

  6. Thank you. Only issue I can see at present is they have three modes - low, high, and flashing. I'd ideally like to run them off the satnav wire, but I suspect I'll have to fit a switch so that I can turn them on and off to get the mode I require.

  7. Any way you can see if you can disable the flashing? Can be really funny for things like MOT. I've fit a switch to mine, just a standard maplin toggle switch that I've put in line between the left mirror and switch gear.

  8. That's precisely what I'll do too. Also investigating a Touratech TPS 15 style 12v fuse box for charging, so thanks for the heads-up on that too.

    cheers,

    Which lights did you buy.

I'm looking for something discrete/small. Prepared to buy cheap Chinese on eBay and modify if I need to as don't want to spend a fortune.

  10. Be real keen to see photos of them held in the location that the OEM ones mount, even if just by hand.
Think I might get a set, were they posted from China?

  11. They came from within the UK. Arrived within 2 days I seem to remember.

Once I've got them fitted I'll post some pics.

  12. interested too...yes please on pics...where you fitting them, what brackets will you use ?

  13. I might mount them on the crash bars, otherwise, somewhere under the beak - I think I have some ally plate in the garage, so I might make something up to suit.

  14. If you wanted them near the standard locations then the brackets are not too expensive from the dealers.

  15. Ordered a set.

  16. How much were they?

  17. About £16

  18. Result, that'll do nicely, thanks. Not worth faffing about making any at that price.
