I'm guessing my spring is standard I'm literally bucking bronco on my 848..all adjustments have been made my spring is too hard..I'm around 12 stone geared up I guess only 11 stone when fit and well without leathers etc...cheers
Hi Carl, Don't guess on spring rates, it may also be shim stack collapsed, but unlikely, £45ish notes for a basic suspension setup and they'll tell you what spring rate you need to get you in the correct sag position, it of course maybe that sag can be set with your Weight and the rest can be dialled out, What I do know is your weight makes me look like a buffalo and dukes are famous for high spring rates front standard, so I'm not surprised! What I do not know is whether you have electronic passive or something change on you rear shock, Basically ride in to a well appreciated suspension chap hand over a small amount of cash for the biggest change and feel you'll ever get on a bike, sorry I'm rambling now, by the way I don't know any in Leeds area so ask that question!!! Have a great day
Hi cheers yes I have been to a specialist and cannot get the sag I have had a heavier friend ride the bike and it was fine, I didn't think there was many springs to go at thought I just went one softer but I am reading and looking cheers
It's hard to get sag right on the Showa for the 848 as they are set for 2 up riding. Most seam to go for an ohlins unit off the evo, 10*8 S models. They seem to do the job better. Talking about suspension setup, I've got my 998S booked in with alpha suspension in Morley this afternoon.
Thanks for that, I have been alpha twice with a Fireblade and my 848, he helped with the 848 but restricted with springs, but the blade was night and day better, for the price it was well worth it
Brilliant for the price it's a total bargain no amount of power gains make up for going round a bend planted and confident that's probably why my true love is an rvf 400 just wish they had put a 600 in it
I have a spring for sale that may suit you. It came from an ohlins on a 1098s which was set up for an 11st rider. It's a ohlins 1091-24-80, not sure what the std 848 rate Spring is but is available if it suits. £40 Paul
