1200 Mirror Vibration / Buzzing

  1. Multi 1200s 2013

My mirrors seem to be vibrating or buzzing too much. The handle grips seem to be normal with no annoying vibration.
Engine vibrates more than my Triumph Sprint St (triple) but I guess that's expected from a twin.

Is quite difficult to make out who is behind at a distance especially when trying to see if your mates are still behind - not easy to make it out among the car lights - everything in the distance is too blurry from the vibration.

Is it only me or others had / have similar problem

  2. Hhmm! Not even one comment! I guess, then, I must assume that is only happening to me and therefore something wrong with my mirrors or engine.

  3. I can't say that I've noticed the mirrors being unusually viby, but I've only ever ridden V-twins or singles for the last 40 odd years [IMG]

  4. Just one thing to check. Is it the whole assembly that is vibrating or is it just the glass in the mirror that is vibrating? If it is the glass then underneath the mirror is a removable plastic cover, take it off, squirt in some silicon sealer as best you can and replace the cover. Make sure you put the same amount of sealant in BOTH mirrors or it may affect the balance on the bars - depending on how much you put in!
I have had a loose glass but not noticed any other type of vibes in the mirrors.

  5. I've never found the mirrors shaky.

  6. Who changed the standard mirrors to DP? Are they less vibrate? They seems good in that issue because they lighter.
What about my MTS, picture in the left mirror is slightly blurred on high revs.
