I have used this software 3 years ago to tension my belts. I would appreciate some advice as to the best settings as I am preparing to help Rickyx to change the belts on his 1098r and I can't remember what I used previously 1. Sampling rate: choice of : 5512, 22050, 44100, 48000, 11025 what is best setting? 2. Samples. choice of 64, 128, 256, 1024, 4096, 8192 what is best setting? 3.The ref 1 vertical slider gives varience of -60dB to + 60dB what is best setting? 4. The dB vertical slider gives varience from 1dB to 10dB what is best setting ? Any guidance much appreciated, I'm sure I can work it out with trial and error but some basic set up advice would speed things up and probably save my thumb from too much wear! Also have the 'Gates' carbon drive ap on my iphone, haven't used it yet, seems very straightforward, I can forsee problems though with getting the microphone of the iphone close enough to the vertical cylinders belt, although the horizontal belt should be straightforward. Anyone have any experience of using the 'Gates' ap?

People use a plug in mic for the iPhone. Only about £5 on EBay. Not used the gates app but heard it is very accurate from all who have used it, including direct conparisons with Ducai Service Kit.
Thanks for the info re iphone microphone. I didn't realise you can plug an external microphone into the earpiece jack plug, just tried it and seems to work well. The Gates ap seems to work well, very easy to use. I intend to use both to see which is more effective. Can you confirm that the new belt tension using your belts for a 1098r is 90 Hz?
