1200 Slippy Pillion Seat

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Sprocker, Jun 4, 2016.

  1. Took my partner image.jpeg on the bike for the first time today and she really liked it apart from the seat was too slippy for her. Are there any options available ? Im sure others have had similar problems ?

  3. Take the rubber bungs of the foot pegs also!

  4. A bit of off the wall logic, get your partner to ride her own bike, mine does. You can buy non slip material for trays to stop your dinner from sliding around which you could cover the pillion seat with. Should be enough squidge to trap it between the seat and the bike. Andy

  5. Just ordered a triboseat so will see how that goes. Absolutely no chance of her getting her own bike its taken me long enough to get her to ride pillion :)

  6. Was she wearing new leather trousers? If so then those on a new rear seat are a recipe for slipperiness.

In time she will slip less through a combination of slight roughing up of her bum and the seat coupled with her experience of riding pillion increasing so using her arms and legs to brace against the shift in weight.

I tried the grippy seat route years ago with my ex but it was too grippy and she preferred it with less friction ultimately. (Feed-lines-r-us)

  7. Yeah ive bought her all new gear so she can have a go (she wouldnt get on without the proper protection, which is perfectly understandable )

  8. Maybe you could try roughing up her bum a bit?
