  1. Is it quite straight forward to put another stud in front cylinder head? Taking full system off and came across just one stud and nut holding exhaust on plenty of gasket sealer though:rage:

Bit damp below sump plug but looks fine not dripping

  2. Whoever put all that exhaust sealant on knew about the missing stud.

If it's a broken stud then hopefully you can get a pair of grips on the stud thats broke, if not then it's a careful drill and tap out job.

You wont know till you take that exhaust off.

  3. I'm stuck now rounded nut so have put the SOS out
    Cheers

  4. Would help you if i was a bit closer, but someone near to you will see your S.O.S.
In the meantime get some Plus Gas or penetrating oil soaked around them nuts and studs. Good luck.!!!!!!!

  5. Cheers, just one nut now it's facing down so bit stuffed for oil soaking it crackers access

  6. Halfords or it might be Screwfix do a set of sockets designed for removing rounded nuts. I've got one but had no opportunity to use it so cannot comment on effectiveness. Andy

  7. I removed a nut recently by carefully filing one side down so the thread was just visible. I then hit it with a punch carefully on an angle and once it started to turn I was able to remove it by hand.
When I put new nuts on I ran a die over the thread to make sure the thread on the stud wasn't damaged.

  8. Ok good one I'm thinking it's stuffed me a bit

  9. are you sure the broken stud is in there, it could have fallen out due to a stripped thread

  10. It could one came out earlier with not attached.main problem is the nut as it's stopped removal and I have sold it ha
