  1. Hi Peeps
Just reset the four digit pin and tried to start it as if I had no key..all went well but was wonderng is there any way the steering lock can be set via the four digit pin ?
    Regards in advance

  2. Your steering lock works? :eek:penmouth:

  3. what I meant was after say I made a journey somewhere then stopped the engine is there anyway the steering can be locked as if the key was within 1.5 m? I ask this as when I tried the start up recess minus the key.. When I went to lock the steering as you would normally there was nothing

  4. On the old models, there was a FW update whereby you could hold the slider down for 5 seconds to engage the steering lock. Might be worth a dealer ask.

  5. Thanks will do

  6. This is the exact FW update I have and this is how I lock the steering. As I got the bike 2nd hand the previous owner explained that it was done in order to avoid all sorts of problems with the original setup (the bike remaining locked or not getting unllocked, etc.). It's quite convenient. However, I think it still needs the key to work. I can check in the afternoon.

  7. The steering lock is not supposed to lock on in the absence of a key. The PIN is OK for switching on, unlocking the steering lock, starting the engine, and riding along, but not for closing the steering lock.

  8. Thanks Pete for clarification

  9. I know I should RTFM(!), but how does the steering lock work?

  10. I can verify that without the key, locking does not work.

  12. It's a little solenoid which slides a steel pin into a position which prevents the steering from moving away from full lock. When supplied with electric current, the solenoid moves the steel pin in or out.

  13. Cheers, but I meant how do I get it to work. Put the bard on full lock and turn it off?

  14. With the steering set to full left or full right, switch the ignition off (press the bottom button on the right handlebar). Wait a second or two (up to 60 seconds), then press the button again and hold it down. A green bar will appear on the display reading "KEEP PRESSED TO LOCK". The steering lock pin will then slide into place with an audible click, and the display will read "STEERING LOCKED". You can then let off the button.

  15. I thank you!
