taken the baffles out the streetfighter for first time, whats the crack with the 2 small screws? cant seem to get into them, also doesn't seem to be an allen key, very hard to see to be honest, what kind and size heads on these?
impossible to get a socket in, ive got 1/4 drive gear and some of the thinnest wall sockets out there and the whole in side of can is just way to small, just thought the was something silly I was missing, not came across this before ever
Is that an allen bolt head on the inside? has someone stripped the welded in nut so decided to put an allen bolt from the inside and put a bolt on the outside? Just a thought
I don't believe this ive just noticed that someones put the bolt in through the nut from baffle side lol, surely this cant be correct?
all done and all good with the baffle and screws, some ones just put them in wrong by mistake, if ide known what the nut was meant to look like wouldn't of been a problem, aint I a fool lol
Excellent news, now do yourself a favour and don't put them back in until the MOT :sunglasses::sunglasses:
I'd be thinking...if they can't put a baffle in correctly...what else has been bodged? The perils of second hand bikes...I've always found silly things like that on my bikes when I first get them.
funny thing is all the receipts show the works been done by a dealer and thankfully theres only 2995miles on her, ive been over her with a fine tooth comb and shes perfect other than one small missing screw that holds on the air cover on r/h side
It must have taken them ages to get that allen bolt in 1/16th of a turn at a time. Top marks for dogged persistance. :Wideyed:
one thing that really puts me of buying second hand is the amount of people with little mechanical no how that's asking about fitting belts and doing valve clearances, its frightening tbh
