Hi. I was knocked off my beloved skyhook multistrada and sadly it has been a written off by the insurance company. Depending on the cost of buying it back I would like to keep it, but I would have to sell a kidney to afford the cost of replacement panels. Does anyone know the implications (electrically, computer etc) of trying to do some kind of naked, street fighter, job on it. It nearly caused a divorce when I bought it so it would be a shame if all those hours in marriage guidance went to waste over such a minor detail as the loss of a beloved family member.( the bike not the future ex wife). I have never seen a one or heard of anyone doing a one, but as I sit here watching Glastonbury and drinking Jamesons it all seems like a good idea. All suggestions gratefully received. The people out there that had given me good advice about the bike before I bought it might just be able to save its life .Cheers Gary.
Funnily enough somebody has already broken it for me. You would be burnt at the stake in Italy for that kind of talk. Its in intensive care at the minute but I am trying to get it out. cheers bradders
It was a 30mph collision, where I hit a car that was trying to do a 3point turn. Almost all of the damage is plastics.( top fairing both sides. lower fairings both sides headlight +bracket. Hand guards and front indicators both sides+ mirrors.) buckled front wheel and disc but it didn't seem that bad as I managed to limp it about 3 miles home. Hope that helps. Gary.
I have some photos. and believe it or not a video of the collision taken by a driving instructor with a dash cam who was parked nearby but I need to get my son to post them for me as my dinosaur status rules me out of anything too technical. When he comes in from nursery school tomorrow I will get him straight on it. Gary
