Upgrading brakes

  1. I'm going to be upgrading the brakes on my s2r 800 over this winter and was thinking of getting the brembo 4 pad callipers
My question is are these going to be overkill for the 800? Should I just upgrade to the 2 pad callipers instead ?
I will be getting new rotors also so I have a bit of research to do on what exactly I need.
The 4 pads are just a slight bit more over the 2 pad callipers

  2. the 749/999 4 pads offer serious stopping power are great especially on track, but they are very snatchy so you have to be very careful in low grip conditions or emengencies as locking the front is all too easy if you grab a handful

the 2 pad 4 piston 'gold lines' were installed out the box on the 916, 996, 748 superbikes aswell as most older monsters eg m900, m1000 and s2r 1000, and even s4r 996, so they are still excellent and more thn good enough especially when compared to the 2 piston OEM calipers on the s2r 800 and the later m620

also you have to consider the cost of pads for the 4 pads which are about £80 a set as opposed to £35- £40 for the 2 pad gold lines

  3. Thanks for your help again funkatronic :) I think the 2 pad 4 piston callipers will be adequate for my needs.
I just always seem to think if im spending x amount I might as well add a little more and upgrade to the next level. It never ends at that and before I know it I've spent a fortune

  4. Get some Radial M/C's

  5. Or buy some platform boots.......

Gary Glitter soon won't need his
