Have you considered the fact that you haven't reported a crime/incident to the Police? What happens if road rage guy takes it into his head to report you to the police? The fact that you haven't yourself involved the police may count against you, if this goes down the insurance and/or legal routes. I only say this because I was twatted off my bike before Christmas by a hit & run. I obtained the twat's registration, reported the incident to the police and pursued a claim via a claims company, not because I expected to get very much for but purely to protect myself and my legal position, in case things took an unexpected turn. The twat denied any knowledge of the incident when questioned by the cops. You don't need to persuade me why this course of action won't suit you, Luca, I'm just letting you know what I did and what happened to me, in not dissimilar circumstances. I am not trying to make your decisions for you I eventually received a small payout from the Claims company, btw. Just sayin'. I was of course without my bike for the duration but I did get a hire bike supplied via the claims company (for which I paid nothing).
Loz behave. So it seems like there is no way to fight the system. They will not help you at all unless you take all they are offering. I got confirmation car was insured, they are contacting 3rd party's insurance. Sadly getting a NC750 so no Stuart jokes. Saying that will test its fuel economy They also agreed bike repair happens at my chosen garage only, bike will stay at home till we are ready to repair.
I received an NC750 for a hire bike, too. At least it's a twin The fuel economy is a lot better than with my 750SS, that's for sure
If you have a reg number you can check if he's insured here askMID If he's not insured you can still claim. Do it via the Motor Insurance Bureau. We all pay a premium on our motor insurance to cover this. Basically some of your insurance premium goes into a pot and covers claims against uninsured tosspots. I've never used it myself but I hear they are helpful. Welcome to MIB
Lucasz, sorry to hear that you were in a bump. Presumed the other guy was on a bike for some reason. Was the incident on cctv? If so, you should press charges. Presumably you got witnesses?
