Gents, feedback appreciated, which one of these better suits an Akra can?? Baffles required or not? Noise i like but dont want to piss of too many people if its too LOUD. Its a 2010, and where around Glasgow can i have a remap done?? Or any other decat options? Leo Vince decat pipework requires about 10mm cut off the end of the pipe to fit the Akrapovic end can. There is no off the shelf baffle available and that combination of pipe and can is extremely loud. My riding companions refused to ride behind me when I had them fitted. Never looked at MIVV because of the poor quality reputation but those people that did all say it's loud. Andy
Have had both at some point. MIVv first but wasn't impressed with the build quality and changed it for a Leo Vince albeit with a termi can rather than the akra. It's loud but has some baffling in it so not as loud as the MIVv and way better quality imo. Termi or any can with stock connecting dimensions fits straight on. Added a pcv and got it dyno'd at Ian Murrays in Edinburgh but dynotech ecosse are in Glasgow and will do the same for you out that way.
For what it's worth,I've a Mivv decat on my 2011 Multi with an Akrapovic slip on. The Mivv is not showing any signs of wear and nothing has broken The Akrapovic fitted straight on with no cutting and in my opinion sounds fantastic
Leo Vince seems to be the preferred option for most, arguably a better design (look at the way the Mivv will flow into the exit pipe) and is probably a little less noisy thanks to the included baffle. But still too noisy for me as any decat pipe seems to be a choice between loud and LOUD! 90% of the silencing is done by the cat - the endpipe is little more than decoration. And none of the aftermarket end pipes seem to have any decent silencing, even with a so called db 'killer' in. IMHO only the (expensive!) full systems (Termi, Quat) and possibly the Spark will get rid of that ugly cat and let the bike sound a little more like a Ducati should without being annoyingly loud. A secondhand Termi system with replacment ECU (2010/2012?) or Upmap key (2013/14 ) included makes most sense to me - and would cost little more than a new LV pipe and a remap. They come up occasionally (I've just bought one). Quat looks and sounds lovely but almost never see one secondhand.
