So I just changed my 2010 1200 s for a fully loaded 65 plate multi. Sunday dawned bright and early and so did I out at 7.15 am and off we went. Thatcham to Alton via some oddball backroads then onto west bay via some interesting roads suggested by my rather cantankerous old Tomtom. Stopped at west bay to take the sea air and a bacon and egg bap and have a root round windy corner helmet city. Then back home via more oddball roads thanks tomtom. 243 miles in total, slightly sore bum however probably down to bike jeans rather than padded touring trousers. 45 ish mpg and I did "make progress" on numerous occations. Cruise control was very useful however I'm glad I did the cricket bat grip mod on the handlebars as this made the bike more comfortable to ride without removing feel. Having only 3500 miles on the bike 243 of which I added on sunday it still has the stock Scorpion tyres, they are a bit tippy and the rear has squared off a bit so probably bridgestone T30r's are in my near future. Very glad I got it
You put rubber cricket bat grip on the handlebar grips making the grip diameter larger and the grip comfier to hold I'll post some pics later
I cant post a direct link as it keeps showing my amazon page logged in so...... Google Readers deluxe cricket bat grip black sold on amazon by Wisdens sports. £5.49 for one length ( which is plenty to do both grips) The fitting process involves rolling the grip on then pulling it into place, no glue needed as once on there they dont move unless you want to roll them off.
