Hi Just received a hugger from Powerbronze and for the life of me I can't see that the bracket that fits above and below the swingarm is wide enough It bolts to the top chain guard swingarm bolt and the bottom one under the swingarm that bolts the rubbery chain guard to the underside as far as I can see Anyone here fitted one and can give any tips etc Thanks Simon
I haven't fitted one of these but some of them bolt to a hole that is in the underside of the swing arm and has a a captive nut set into it, which is not the chain rubber fitting. I have a feeling that not all swinging arms had this, which is why you may be trying to figure out where it goes. If I remember correctly it is on the nearside just in front of the edge of the rear tyre. Perhaps someone could definitively confirm this.
There is only the one hole under the arm ... I've attached a pic I have the one at the back of the swingarm that the old hugger used to attach to but went with the power bronze as they were the only ones I could find did a matt black ABS plastic one rather than carbon
The problem seems to be that the distance between the two fixing points isn't actually wide enough to slide top and bottom over the swing arm ... as if it has been welded with the wrong gap .. if that makes sense
Problem solved ... sent it back as there is no way on earth the bracket has been welded properly to give enough room to fit the swing arm in between ... and TBH the quality of the powder coating on the bracket left a lot to be desired .... Will search for a genuine Ducati fit one using the existing bolt hole on the back edge of the swing arm
