Hi, I'm thinking of getting some crash bungs for my 03 MTS 1000. R&G do main frame and front axle but nothing for the rear. I'd prefer rears mounted under the pillion but; A) I'm not sure if that's a wise idea as the frame doesn't look that strong there. B) I'd have to adapt some main frame bungs. Any thoughts/suggestions (that don't involve physical pain for me!).
I guess no other MTS1000 owners are using these bobbins. If anyone in the future is interested I'm advised by R&G as follows; Front Axle uses FP0020BK and Main Frame uses CP0097. I will give these a try on the back ' DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1000 1100 REAR CRASH MUSHROOMS PROTECTOR SLIDERS BOBBIN R10E1 | eBay
Those will fiy using the same hole for the pannier rack. I had seen these but they come out so far I had wondered if they came out a bit too far?
As per their picture, I'm sure they'll fit. I'm not sure the frame up there is really strong enough if it goes down at any speed but hopefully it'll protect the bike if it falls off the stand (more likely I lose footing walking it around the garage/driveway...).
The rear bobbins arrived today.... and they're the wrong ones They aren't the ones on their picture so I guess it's just a case of them picking the wrong ones out of the store.. but it's always a pain having to return stuff by post...
