hi guys is it possible to repair carbon fibre?? ive got a crack in the side of a 996sps airbox but dont really want to buy a new one. any thoughts?? cheers
Have a word with Steve. He has done some great carbon repairs and modifications for me. C-Tech Composites Ltd UK - Composite Engineering Excellence
When you say 'stuck', what do you mean ? A carbon fibre patch resined on the inside of the air box is usually a fairly permanent repair. I have also had some success using kitchen work surface rubber sealant to mask the visible join. You can get small tubes of sealer in varieties of matt, gloss and sparkly finishes from B&Q. Andy
Depending where the crack is you could try skinning it http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/starter-kits/carbon-fibre-skinning-starter-kit.html
This is what i used Ali - http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/...ack-epoxy-repair-filler-for-carbon-fibre.html Admitted defeat in the end and stuck a patch over the damage (was a big burn hole).
