Switched Feeds For Sat Nav And Autocom

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by zorro1, Aug 17, 2016.

  1. Just about to buy a multistrada s and will need to put switched feed under the rear seat for an Autocom and at the handle bars for a sat nav. Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi, I used the power outlet under the passenger seat for both the same things, just ran a wire up to the front.

  3. Did you have to cut into the loom or buy a specific plug to go into it ? I notice there's a power socket at the front as well is this a switched feed as well as the seat one ?

  4. I used the power socket at the back and used a hella plug then ran both from this. There is a plug at the front for accessories but this will be used for my fog lights when the pack drives, mine is an enduro i assume they are the same.

  6. There's a switched feed already stowed for fog lights and sat nav, under the LHS panne lint (sat on the bike) fog lights are the big connector and sat AV the smaller one. Just cut off the protective sheath and solder feed to sat nav

  7. Which year multi, new DVT?

  8. Well then, what Nigel and longjohn said.

You don't really have to cut into the loom as they give you the plug with two wires poking out of it. You can solder straight onto those two wires and job done
