How do I remove the cushes from here to transfer them to my new sprocket carrier? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Threaded rod; nuts; washers and two sockets.........One socket the same size as the outer cush drive metal and one larger than the cush drive, but still fits on the carrier...............and then wind away with your spanners.
Ah but they are not holes through the bushes, they are actually 12mm Allen so I've bought one to see it that will shift them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The 12mm allen is to hold it whilst you tighten/loosen the nuts. They should push out but turning them with the allen key may loosen them if they are stuck. If you're replacing the sprocket, and the cush drives have covered some miles you may want to consider replacing them too as they have a habit of separating the metal from the rubber and grinding your eccentric adjuster - unless your new carrier has the retaining plates (if not it really should have).
Ouch! No, no retaining plates in the new carrier [emoji34] When I get them out I will inspect them closely to make sure they are sound before transferring to the new carrier. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Cush rubbers going as above is very easy to spot, just keep an eye on the rear wheel as it produces loads of swarf.
When mine failed it literally 'popped' - with a big bang. Problem was it happened 160 miles from home on a Sunday afternoon...
Good advice. I've ordered a new set so can pick them up when I'm next in UK. Got my next race 03-Sep so need the new sprocket on before then [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
