I use Paul (ex Snell Performance) who is near Southampton. Ducati Servicing & Suspension Specialist In Southampton . He'll give you a good base setup to work from and can tell you if you need to change springs or whatever.
Who I was going to recommend. Last time we spoke, he know had all the kit to recharge, change valves, full service front and rear.
Yep, he did my front fork oil, and I had him set all the bikes up plus he's gone out of his way getting stuff done and answering my dumb texts from trackside
I'm based near Plymouth but happy to travel. I've had the suspension set-up at the track and your right you can tweak (If you know what your doing?), however found this just a quick setup give me your £50 scenario (Which can be ideal). However I wanted the suspension fully checked (serviced if required), including geometry, baseline setup dry/wet, check my spring rate. Seem to be marking up the rear tyre to quickly?? Pressures are as recommended. Thanks for any advice
RT - Digital Product Search This is a good site to get the weights you need so you can see if you are already in the right range, if not then budget on a spring change
I use this bloke, also Paul, for all suspension matters. He does loads of track bikes including Ducatis. He rebuilt and set up the suspension on my Streetfighter. Did an ace job. Race Lab Suspension - Home page Wimborne, Dorset. Bit nearer than Southampton.
Yep I used Paul as well. I too have emailed him from trackside from advice and he's been excellent. Highly recommended by me and a lovely bloke to boot. I was in a garage with him at Oulton in the summer and you should see the tyres on his S1000rr. Perfectly set up!
A long way from the OP's area, but MCT at Stowmarket are very good......You could always try phoning Darren (who is a racer BTW) and see if you could meet up on a track day, perhaps?
100kg in leathers. Bikes has DDS from K-tech, I set the preload to approx 10mm on the rear then had compression and rebound adjusted slightly. Bike handles really well, however every now and then it just eats the rear tyre - rebound issue maybe? It's also the sum of the parts, if that makes sense? Wanted to try and get the best out of the package (To hide my pants riding). So wanted the geometry checking.
Totally agree. So tried ruling out the reasons above. Brand new Diamond tyre warmers. Decent tyre gauge. Used recommended pressures, then did 1 psi increments up/down. Tried different tyres - did see differences but still marking up. So thats left me with suspension settings/spring rate. Believe the spring is correct, had the suspension tweaked at the track however still not right. Appreciate its going to change with conditions, however it's marking up in all conditions. Bike is going for a topend refresh for next year so will get the suspension serviced. Will give Paul a shout.
Got a picture? Have you googled Dave Moss youtube videos? Ps I was researching ST2 trackbikes via google and a thread by your name came up...still got it?
